Horses and HEALTH Inc is a non-profit organization founded by Dr. Cheryl Meola and Malaika King Albrecht in Greenville, NC.
Horses and HEALTH Inc.’s purpose is to promote healing through experiential activities with horses. HEALTH stands for Healing Equals Active Learning Through Horses.
Our mission is to empower individuals with a broad range of personal well-being goals by providing the highest quality equine-assisted activities and therapies in an inclusive and welcoming environment.
Funded by our community, staffed by our community, and providing services for our community, Horses and HEALTH promotes connection between all levels of our local community.
The organizers of Horses and HEALTH have targeted their energies at two projects they project to start in 2020. The immediate focus is fulfilling funding for two groups the organizers hope to start this summer.
Equine Service for Heroes offers veterans and their families a chance to learn together with horses in a relaxed, outdoor environment. We appreciate the power of the horse to change lives, and our goal is to assist you with your goals! We offer group opportunities and opportunities for military families.

Part of Our Herd: A Healing Group for survivors of domestic violence is a group offered at no cost to survivors of domestic violence to find empowerment and peace through work with horses.
Future funding endeavors: Better Together: Healing with our Herd: A six week course for substance use recovery.
